Hi all,
I am getting a " C: 13:00 disk is dirty" error on my Sony DVD player.
I've tried making a new copy of the disk but I'm still getting that error.
It's a VCD that I created with Nero.
I am new to this so there may be an obvious answer.
Tia for any advice.
Thx
Gary

Try to use the SEARCH function first. This exactly problem has been answered many times before.
The problem is that your Sony DVD player wasn't designed to read CD-R or CD-RW media. As such, it does so poorly. Obviously, for your particular media brand, it can't read it at all. If you want to convince yourself of this, try burning an audio CD onto the same media type to see if it will play flawlessly.
You can try to experiment with different brands of CD-R media to see if one will work. Often in these cases, CD-RW media will work better.
In the future, when you buy another DVD player, I strongly suggest that you get one that specifically states that it supports CD-R and CD-RW media as well as VCD. These are separate abilities.

On top of that, I am a huge Sony fan, but I was sorely dissapointed with their dvd players. They seem very scared of supporting anything that could possibly be linked to any sort of piracy in their systems. Very frustrating, also their players seem to lack a lot of flexibilty and functions.

Thanks for replying. I have used this player for a VCD I created with DVD Pictureshow and it worked fine. Maybe it doesn't work for everything?

Interesting... Same media type hey?
How did you make the discs that didn't work?

In the manual it shows That C:13:00(The Sony DVP-NC615 manual does for sure. Check in the back of that manual.) means the disc is dirty. My dvd players can read my cd-rws. Once I got C:12:00 flash on the unit and the screen. The Reason was, because I made a miniDVD. Only my Sony DVP-S560D showed C:13:00. The Sony DVP-NC615 thought it was an audio disc, which lead to an error before being played. That is how i made a readable disc be unreadable that is untill I erased it.
Anyone know if what is listed in the Diagnostics menu of Sony DVD players can actually work in the player? If so please pm me.
