  1. i want to make a slide show of still pics..what is the best resolution to scan them at ..got a few so i only want to do it once..thanks

  2. Pictures on DVD or VCD are never bigger than the full D1 DVD resolution (720x480). But if you were only doing it once capture at maybe 200 dpi in BMP or other lossless format.

    Other opinions?

  3. Kodak Picture CD, Photo CD and Pro Photo CD can get higher resolutions (1024 x 1536, 2048 x 3072, and 4096 x 6144 respectively).

    I'm not sure how compatible these are (if at all) with set top DVD players.
    You probably can't somehow mix these photo CD formats with the DVD-Video format either.

    It obviously would be pointless to use these if you didn't have a tv that couldn't display these kinds of resolutions. (Unless you wanted to buy one in the future, or use the disks to display them on the PC as well).
