    When I try to capture a some video from a VHS it comes out choppy and blurry when i use a different compression format it is clearer and choopier or vice versa what is the best format to use

    VHS is not the greatest source to capture from anyway. But I think you should try Huffyuv yuy2--> predict median with a resolution of at least 480x480.Thats how I capture from VHS. Works good for me with no dropped frames
