  1. 1) I was wondering if there was way to fit a movie onto 1 700 mb cd

    2) besides nero is there any other good progams for burning

    Well, if you have a 1700 MB CD, and the writer that handles that capacity, then there's no reason why you wouldn't fit a movie onto it, if it's smaller than 1700 MB. But I wouldn't think that any stand alone DVD player, nor any standard CD reader would read it.

    As for CD burning software - CDRDAO, CDRECORD.

    VcdEasy is a great freeware VCD/SVCD authoring & burning program.

    Ah - You're probably right!
    Well, then there's the standard answer: You can cram almost 800 MB MPEG on a 700 MB CD, if you create it as as (X)VCD or (X)SVCD.
    How much movie that corresponds to depends on what bitrate it's encoded at.
