  1. Right, here's my problem. I have made a lot of XVCDs (both lowering bitrate to fit on 1 CD and increasing to get a better quality output file) and most of the time i've used CBR for the encoding time's sake, but recently i used VBR 2 pass to get even better quality. The output file's quality was better and played perfect on PC but when i burned it on CDR (with Nero) and played with DVD Player the audio was out of synch. All my previous encodes to XVCD (i am encoding from AVI) using CBR had no problem. I thought that maybe the fact that i was at the same time converting the frame rate to PAL (i had NTSC source) by loading PAL template contributed to it (although it is not likely since i've done that a lot while using CBR and there was no problem) - hence the subject of my post. Yes, i know that it is not the best solution when converting NTSC to PAL so let's not discuss that here - i was just wondering if anyone knows WHAT exactly caused this problem if it isn't VBR 2 Pass, which, in my opinion, is the case. Any solutions?

  3. 30+ viewed this topic and no suggestions?!! Maybe i didn't express myself clear enough . I got Mpeg-1 (XVCD) file with out of synch audio when used VBR 2 pass, if i use CBR then there is no problem. It is out of synch only when played on standalone DVD player, on PC everything's OK. Source is AVI, encoder - TMPGEnc. Any suggestions appreciated.
