    Hello Everyone.
    I have a Dell Latitiude C600 running XP Pro with an S-Video port. I can connect the Dell to my Philips TV and then using the S-Video port and a cable.


    But when I play a AVI or MPEG it plays on the laptop. The AVI plays for a second or two on the TV then it blanks out and gives me a blank screen. The sound works fine.

    try recording your tv out to a vcr, see if it does record the video.. if it does, then there is something wrong with your tv's s-video input jack..

    you also might want to try checking the television system (ntsc/pal) the tv out is outputting.
