    Hi,

I've been reading up on this website and created my first VCD onto a Sony 80min CD-R. However, it does not play on my SHINCO DVD-180. Says NO DISC. Tried it again with an 74min HP CD-R - same thing. I checked the compatability list and it says that it plays CD-R's and CD-RW's. There is a link that shows which CD-R's can work with the SHINCO but it is DEAD. Anyone have any more information on this?

I used TMPGEnc and VCDEasy to create the .bin and .cue files. Then used Nero to burn the image based on the cue file using Disc-at-once. I tested the .cue/.bin file by mounting it using virtual daemon tools and playing it on PowerDVD. Works great! However, doesn't on the Shinco.

I could not burn directly from VCDEasy as I have a external HP 8200e cd writer that is connected via USB. VCDEasy doesn't show this drive ... only my cd drive (not a writer). Nero could see my cd-writer that is why I used it.

I haven't tried to use a CD-RW disc yet, but I've read that you have to erase it first? What's the difference between this and just putting in a fresh blank CD-RW right from the case and then burning the .cue/.bin file onto it?

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

When encoding in tmpgenc did you change the bitrate or audio rate?

If the bitrate was changed then it would be an XVCD and your player does not support those.

Did you select VideoCd in nero?

Maybe try a different media brand?
not sure what else it could be

no, I did not change the bitrate or any of those settings.

I did not choose VCD in Nero... just went directly to burn from image and then selected my .cue file.
