  1. SO I have an SVCD thats already in BIN and CUE format abd I use an 80 min CD.... I know that usually a Bin file of say 820 mb will still fit on the 80 min disc..... so my problem is that when my computer burns a disc, it always locks up the process because its almost liek the cd runs out of room but the program thinks its still trying to finish writing it... I could let it sit their for 50 hours and it still wouldn't complete the process

anyone else have this problem ? or know what to do. .. I know that I can't overburn but usually this isn't a problem

    thanks

I think you'd have a hard time writing a 820 MB BIN on a 80 min CD. Only option AFAICS is to use 90 min CD-R

  3. I presume you are burning this w/ CDRWIN.
If so, when the *.cue file is loaded & CDRWIN computes the time (in minutes) of your data it simply must match BOTH your cd-rw drives capability & blank media.
I always recommend opening the *.bin & *.cue in CDMAGE 1st, that way you can see the exact layout & contained data + it shows how big the file is in minutes

another thing you can try is to mount the image with daemontools, and then do a cd copy
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

  5. You can't overburn because of your burner not supporting it?
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  6. correction... the file is too big but in cdrwin it shows it to be just under a few seconds of the cd capacity... Chances are it was designed that way, but I think that the extra open/close of the cd is taking up that space and it's unable to close at the end because their is no room left on the cd.... I think ill try doign a disc copy with daemon

    thanks

  7. Okay I tried that and and it does the same thing, it locks up , wild writign the readout track in CDRWIN... CDRWIN hasn't frozern up either, ....

the only thing i can think of trying is to use a mpeg editor and get rid of somethign on the vid ....

  8. On that topic, I've just fallen foul of the same problem. Got an 800 MB file which wont fit on my CD-RW. So I have two questions:-

Is there an easy way of hacking out some of the file - or do I need to go back right to the start of the whole process and split the avi up in to smaller chunks?

Secondly, is there a way of knowing in advance how big the file is going to be, so that I dont make the same mistake again?

    Cheers,
    Bongo
