  1. Hi,

I'm trying to convert an mpg video to div x format. I've tried to use tmpgenc to do it, but when i play it back in windows media player, there is no audio. I don't know what the problem is. Also tried VirtualDub and Vidomi but no luck.

    Can anyone help?

    I have installed dix 3,4,and 5.

    thanks

    Hello!

Launch VirtualDub... then choose the movie you want to convert, it will open into VB. Then in File, "Save WAV" the audio of your MPEG will be extracted onto your computer.
You can now convert it to MP3 but I would suggest Ogg Vorbis that gives a much better quality in the same or less important disk space.
And for your video, I strongly suggest you use Smart Smoother HQ, this will help remove MPEG artefacts... other little thing, you should really consider xvid instead of divx
