  1. In any and everyone's opinion....what is the best authoring program to put say...3 XVCD's on a dvd-r?
Also, if possible, where could I get it?

Is it not possible to just burn the 3 XVCD's on a dvd-r without authoring?
Each XVCD movie would be it's own chapter..
    hence chapter 1 = movie 1...and so on... ????

  2. Well, i never did that before(cuz i'm too poor to buy a DVD-writter )... but, i think, that if you go to TMPG Enc, and you LOAD the template for DVD's... and you Select your XVCD file(#1) and Reëncode... you should be able to make that into a DVD file... Do the same for next XVCD files and you have 3 files you can put on a DVD-R

Now, how to get these Files on your DVD... I suggest u use NERO for that...

  3. If you want your XVCD's on DVD-r to play in a standalone you have to author as DVD-video. It depends how 'non standard' your XVCD is as to what authoring progs will accept it and what player will play it once authored. If you have used VCD spec resolution but higher bitrates you should be ok but if you have changed resolution or GOP structure you may run into problems. Basically, unless some else has tried this I suggest you simply give it a go.

I have put 2000kbs VCD resolution mpeg-1 movies onto DVD-r with Dazzle DVD complete and Ulead DVD workshop if that helps.
