    Does anyone know how to make Windows Media Player play mpeg2 files and VOB files? Is there a free MPEG2 codec that can be installed on my PC?

    Look under tools\codecs off of the main page on this website, the one I use is the Elecard MPEG2 codec, this should work fine for what you listed here.
