I recently started playing with VCDImager v 0.78 and TSCV v.053 and have been able to make VCDs with seamless chapters that work perfectly.
I also tried an SVCD and found that VCDImager fixed all the Nero problems I had with SVCDs (Incorrect Time calculation, no FF/RW) as well as allowing for seamless chapters, but it has introduced a new problem. The Image is displayed at 480x480 and not stretched to fit the screen as it is if I burn the same file with Nero. Has any one else run into this problem or what the solution is? the only warning messages I got where:
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.2a]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:07.2b]

I received the same error when attempting to make an SVCD (or, rather, an XSVCD). I suspect TSCV and/or VCDImager disallows off-spec MPEGs? My resolution is 352x480, and audio is 48kHz.

same problem here
Any suggestion from anyone would be appliciate.
or can anyone tell me the seting in TMPGenc???
Thanks

Try making a thirty-seconds clip within SVCD specification and report back. I would do it myself but I'm still at the office and its only lunchtime.
-
I am also at work, and I only have the one mpeg here and no place to play it. I am burning some test disks using different software for burning the same file and will report back in the morning.

Yesterday I burned 2 discs using the same Mpeg that I have been having problems with, Here is what I found.
First Disc
Used VCDImagerGUI 0.6 and VCDImager 0.62rc2 to create Bin/Cue files and burnt with CDRWin. This produced a disc that played perfectly (Time was correctly calculated, FF/RW worked and picture filled the screen).
Second Disc
Used TSCV 0.53b and VCDImager 0.78 to create Bin/Cue files and burnt with CDRWin. This produced a disc that when played the picture only filled 3/4 of the screen leaving the right side a blue bar. (Time was correctly calculated, FF/RW worked and Seamless chapters worked).
Here is the XML from the second Disc:

Thanks alaric, I will try your xml file today, but for me only different between yours and mine is " option update scan offsets". Hope it is the one that cause the problem.
One more question for "hvr" though. What are these warning? And Is it important? Because everyone in this topic seem to get this warning with their SVCD.

About your problem with picture not show full screen. Had you cut your SVCD with TMPGenc? If I cut my SVCD with TMPGenc, I got that problme also. -
Hey guys, I have got a good new for you guys.
After I demultiplexed my off-spec SVCD with TMPGenc and then multiplexed with bbMPG with scan offsets ON, I have no problem at all with VCDImager. I can create bin/cue files with TSCV and burn with CDRWIN without any warning from VCDXBUILD.
My result, I tested with windvd and entrypoints work seemlessly. I will test with my stand alone (APEX) tonight. Wish me luck guys!!!!!!!
BTW my SVCD spec is 352x480 res. CQ 2000 -
The picture not showing full screen is the only problem I have had, and I don't knoe how the file was made as I didn't make it or edit it.
To date I have tried
Nero (plays full screen but calculates time wrong and no FF/RW, also no previsions for chapters)
VCDImager 0.62rc2 and VCDImagerGUI 0.6 (plays full screen, calculates time correctly and FF/RW works, no previsions for chapters)
VCDImager 0.78 and TSCV 0.53b (does not play full screen, calculates time correctly, FF/RW works and chapters work perfectly)
Today I am making 2 new discs to try, they are as follows:
VCDImager 0.78 and TSCV 0.54b rel4
and I took the disc created with VCDImager 0.62rc2 and VCDImagerGUI 0.6 (which played full screen) and ripped it with VCDxRip then made a new bin/cue with VCDxBuild 0.78
all bin/cue files were burned with WINcdr 4 beta
I will post the results of the new test in the morning
Richard

The Results of last nights test are as follows:
VCDImager 0.78 and TSCV 0.54b rel4 (plays full screen, calculates time correctly, FF/RW works and chapters work perfectly) This is letting TSCV call VCDxBuild, I found that the XML file created by TSCV is different if you choose to create XML Only than it is if you let it create the bin/cue files. I will by forwarding this information to the author of TSCV later today.
The disc created from the ripped disc worked the same as the disc it was ripped from.
I don't yet know what problem in the XML was causing the image not to fill the screen, but if you use TSCV 0.54b rel4 and let it create the bin/cue files it seems to work correctly.
