I tried to create a SVCD with the following features - 2 audio tracks, chapters, and selectable subtitles.
I used DVD2SVCD (ver 1.0.9 build 3) to rip+convert, then used VCDEasy (Ver. 1.1.1) to create chapters, bin/cue files, and burn the SVCD. Played it with my Apex AD-600: The chapters and audio tracks work fine, but I could not get the subtitles to display.
So I took the original MPG file (created by DVD2SVCD), loaded it into Nero + burned it, and the subtitles work fine, but of course no chapters.
Then I took the bin/cue files created by VCDEasy and burned it with Nero, and had the same result as the first try: chapters work, but no subtitles!
Now if I can just figure out a way to get chapters AND subtitles to work.....
    Any suggestions?

  2. that's exactly the problem i'm trying to solve

i think that VCDCOMPOSER can do what you want

weared thing is that both vcdcomposer and vcdeasy use same version of
vcdimager, but when you burn bin/cue there is no subtitles with vcdeasy

the most bizzare thing is when i unchecked verbose output in vcdeasy
my dvd player(phonotrend prestige) sometimes show up subtitles and sometimes don't

at the moment i use vcdcomposer(altough i still didn't learn how to make chapters with it, but subtitles works)

    regards damir

Dado - my solution to chapters with VCDComposer : (it's not pretty, but it worked for me)
    1) took my MPEG (with subtitles) and loaded it into VCDEasy
    2) checked the "generate XML file only" (on the main screen, under "BIN output file")
    3) added chapters, then hit "go"
    4) opened the resulting XML file with VCDComposer, then used it to create the BIN/CUE, and burn.
    You can't fool me, I'm a moron!

  4. If you want to use a straight out GUI to VCDImager (i.e., it is not geared towards XML authoring), I suggest that you try VCDImager Tools GUI.
