viewing problem

hey, I downloaded all of the codecs and divx player 2.0 to watch divx movies, but I am unable to watch them. Windows Media Player and Divx both say that the files are incompatable, but I am able to play the on my other computer with the same setup. There is also a divxplayer.dbf file on my desktop that I don't know what to open with. Could this be the problem? thanks for your help

When people start with "I downloaded all the codec's" I wonder if they have installed a few of them separately.

Install the Nimo codec pack it has all of the poplar ones.

even after I istalled the nimco codec pack, it still didn't work. Do I need the SMR codec to be installed too?

No, don't install SMR, you will have lots of problems if you do.

If you load the AVI into Vdub and select File > File Info it "Should" tell you what codec's are in use.

The latest release of Nimo has DivX 5.02 spy wear, so maybe you had a problem with installing it.

Check your system to see if you have DivX 5.02 control panel > Multimedia > Devices

Or load Vdub and select Video > compression is DivX 5 there ?

If not download the spy free codec pack from Kazaa "KJ Codec Pack"
