Karaoke video

What's the best way of creating a karaoke video? My main problem is in creating color lyrics in syncing with the music over the video. I've tried using a CDG software like DART KARAOKE Studio cudn't totally sync right). But anyways how would i incorporate the cdg (audio w/ graphical text) with the video? Using Adobe Premiere, but couldn't import a cdg file! Open to suggestions here.

I haven't actually made a Karaoke VCD yet, but imagine if I did, I woudl probably just capture the video/audio playing from my CDGplayer to avi/mpg. Then burn this to VCD or SVCD. I would use a menu system, so that I could pick which karaoke song I wanted to play.

I'm not 100% sure of what format you want, but Karaoke VCD seems quite appealing. If you are using your computer to play CDGs, then I think you will need to capture your screen somehow. I think it will be very difficult to find a way to convert CDG to some recognizable format that a program like premiere can undertstand.

Anyhow..these are just a few ideas...Hope it helps somewhat
