This weekend I had the excellent idea of making something better of the photos from my digital camera. So I read the guide on how to make them into a slide show on a VCD using VCDEasy on this site.
My pictures are in JPEG format (1600*1200, approximately 300-500kb each). The conversion to MPEG stills worked fine. As I was working on a Dell VCDEasy could not find my DVD writer (Yes, I checked all the asapi stuff!). So I generated the image and burnt it using Nero (5.5) instead.

On my computer using Windows Media Player the slide show ran smoothly so I moved over to my DVD (Samsung M205). The disc loaded ok and I pressed play. Although rather artistic the output was not what I was expecting: The pictures where scrambled with jagged diagonal stripes . It seemed like every new line (top-down) had been moved a little to the left. And then there was some strange gap in the middle as well.

What have I done wrong? I suspect my newly generated MPEG stills? But I don't have any idea how to generate new that are better? Or have I just burnt it to fast (12x)?

  3. @ moijwall:

This appears to be a problem with MJPEGTools used in VCDEasy. The update to MJPEGTools (which you can download from http://www.vcdeasy.org ) appears to fix this.

    You could try that.
