you need an xvid codec, then you can frameserve it to tmpg to make your vcd/svcd.

For all AVI's install the Nimo Codec pack, and DivX 5.02

  6. I got Nimo, but for some reason now, when converting to VCD, I have no audio in the .mpg. VirtualDub wont let me convert the audio in the .avi.. Does it not recognize the audio codec?

    TMPGEnc
    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

    Vdub AC3, might also help

  9. KingJohn thanks that Directshow priority worked... Weird, I still cant rip the audio with VDub but TMPGEnc seems to handle it OK.

Its not necessary to rip the audio, you would only do this if you were having problems with it.

However, there are some AVI's out there recently using the xvid codec, what they are using for Audio.. God knows
