Hi Gang, this is my problem. I have a good friend that goes oversea's allot, and brings back some pre-cminia released DVD files, yea, you know the type right, those films that are due to come out at the cinima, but get sold oversea's before realse date.

Anyway, it seems that it's a drum roll if they play in colour, or black and white, which is getting a real pain. The DVD states that it is "ALL" compatible, and such, should play on all DVD players. However, after purchasing a NEW DVD player, the Philips DVD612S, it play these style disk back only in black and white, not colour.

I have simply connected my NEW Philips via the scart socket, to the scart socket on my vidio recorder. I have also just purched the latest "Copy Mate" video converter, and still, a black and white picture. It baffels me in that these imported DVD titles will play perfect on my home computer.

Some imported films play fine all video recorders, but some refruse to play in colour.

]I hope you the ansers, and thanks for your time

No, My Philips DVD will not allow me to view in NTSC format, only PAL. It will allow VCD playback. The movies also playback in black and white on my Playstation 2, but that is a known problem concerning imported DVD disks.
