I have an AVI file that I would like to convert to MPEG.
It will play fine through Media player, however when I try to encode it it tells me the file is corrupt in some way.
Is there any software I could use to capture it from media player without a capture card?
Please Help
Cheers

You may want to load it into Virtual Dub and select Video-->Scan video stream for errors to see if you have any corrupt frames.

I've tried loading it into Virtual Dub but it keeps giving me error messages.

It says 'cannot find WMV' or something like that?
any ideas?

Are you able to save the file through Media Player once you install it there?
Hello. -
Load it like you are going to play it in Media Player. Then select File-->Save As..., etc.

Ok thanks
I'll give it a go tonight, can't do it now as I'm in work. (Nightmare)

I can load it into mediaplayer but there is no save as option, do you know exactly where this option is and should the file start playing to save it?

It should start playing. Boy, what a bear this problem is.
Hello. -
Yeah, it starts to play but where do I go to save the file.
I can't find the save as option?
any help would be useful cause I've had this file sitting on my hard drive for about a month and it's doing my head in.

So, in File menu, the Save As function is ghosted out?
Hello. -

That is strange. I am also at work, and my Media Player has a Save As... option.
