When burning a NTSC Film MPEG2 using Nero, should the Nero option "NTSC" option ("Video CD" tab, "Encoding resolution") be used. Doesn't NTSC in this setting panel of Nero mean 29.97?

    TIA

  2. both 23.976 & 29.976 are NTSC film rates. 23 is used mostly for films and 29 is used for Tv shows, etc. If your source is 29, I'd, personally stick with that.

No, my source is 23.976 (sorry, forgot to mention this at my first posting). Should I still use NTSC in Nero?

    TIA

If your source is 23.976fps then always keep it at this framerate. If its 29.97fps its actually much better to convert to 23.976fps but only if you do an inverse telecine. This will give you %20 more bitrate to work with which can make a huge difference in quality.

In either case your material is still NTSC, so yes use NTSC in Nero.

If you are burning an mpg rather than encoding an mpg with Nero, it doesn't matter which option you use. It is ignored except when encoding. The framerate and resolution are already determined by the mpg.

The encoding I did using TMPGEnc. I didn't know so far that Nero can also encode MPEGs for SVCDs.

    Thanks

In which case you can ignore all but the *burn* tab in the SVCD section. Nero can encode, but it not recommended.

Sorry, but I don't know where the "burn tab in the SVCD section" should be. Actually, I also don't see a SVCD section.

I case you encode with Nero, can the format of the source be a DivX (codecs are installed).

    Thanks.
