I have a Phoebe TV Master (TView99) installed with the WDM Drivers. I am currently using TV2000 5.4 to watch TV, but the caturing utility on it is pretty pathetic.
I've tried using VDub but can't get it to recognize the card and I've even tried installing the wrapper and it still doesn't seem to work. What's the deal? Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

If you really don't want the software that came with your card, you might give the Sourceforge drivers a try. You can find them at http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/. I believe the card you mentioned is on their list.
I will mention that I don't think the drivers work well for Win 98. I had to upgrade to Win XP before the drivers would install with no problem. However, once that was done, I could finally capture in VirtuaDub and freeVCR, and some other programs seem to work too. (My card was the ATW TV Wonder VE, by the way.)Animation and geeky reviews and podcasts at

Vdub does not work with wdm drivers for capture so don't try. It expects vxd drivers. It's not your hardware thats the problem, it's how the programs talks to it and vis versa. Read up on Directx Directshow filters and you will understand.
Use something else for capture unless you remove the wdm drivers and install the vxd drivers (win95/win98).
