    everytime i open this particular AVI file on virtualdub 1.3 i get this error message "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MP43' (Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4 V3)"

    somebody help pls....thanx

    Thanks to Virtualdub that message is as clear as could be.

    There are 3 Valid Mpeg4 codecs v1 to v3. This particular clip was compressed with the V3 version so you need that decompressor to view it. Just do a search on GOOGLE for MPEG4 and you will find the pack. Just download and install it and your problems are solved. If you try to play that clip with the media player you may only get audio and no msg as to the problem. At least Virtualdub told you which Microsoft codec it was looking for.
