  1. ok, so i have a VCD in .mpg format on my computer and i want to burn it to a CD so i can play it on my SONY DVD PLAYER. First I tried burning it with Nero, then i tried burning it with VCDEasy, and finnally i tried to burn the image created by VCDEasy with Nero. However, in all three attempts, the SONY DVD PLAYER displayed "NO DISC" when I put the CD in. Now, I know that the SONY DVD PLAYER does infact play VCDS because it says on the description and even has a light that says VIDEO CD. So... im guessing im probably doing something or other wrong... and am hoping that one of you guys might know what the problem is

EDIT: Yes.. I followed the instructions in the VCD burning guides on this site.

  8. one of the cdrs I have that plays on the ns300 is an 80min memorex. Other people have reported that their ns300 plays vcds fine- so I think this has something to do with the firmware- anyone know how to update this? Also I use either Nero or VCDEasy to burn- more often vcdeasy at 8x.

My sony dvp-nc600 plays vcds very well. To get it to play svcds though, I have to remux with vcd header.

  10. hey guys, I have tried TDK (All speed, 650MB, blue dye) and had no luck so far. I burn the .bin with Nero even at 2x speed with no succes.

I was supposed to deliver a high quality SVCD (which works on my philco and pioneer) but most of them have SONY and they don't work, even with cdrw.

I have tried the following: SONY DAV-400D, DVP-N300 and an LG.

    Any further ideas???

  13. Hi i have been reading your problem. i can tell you that you arent doing anything wrong creating vcd's. And it has nothing to do with the colour of cdrs. Your sony dvd player play vcd but the thing is that there is different profiles of a vcd. The best way to try it out is to use a cd-rw disk burn just a mpg file as data cd then close it. then play through dvd player if this doesnt work your dvd player doesnt have the Codec to play vcds.

If so best bet is to go purchase a up to date dvd player with the right codecs.
