anyone know if there's an update somewhere i can get my pioneer 104 recognized with primodvd?

i'm so sick and tired of nero telling me i don't have a compliant DVD to burn (and then i just do a udf/iso dvd in nero and it plays fine on my dvd player ! arrgh.)

  2. Dunno if this will help, but here is an update (I'm still trying to get it to work... let me know if you get it to work )...
It's the PX Engine near the bottom.

  3. Nero must be saying that for a reason. Do you have a non-standard resolution or 44 kHz audio? And what authoring program?

    spruceup is my authoring program.

i follow dvd2dvdr.com's instructions by the book.

i've written about 15 dvds using udf/iso dvd and they have played in 5 test dvd players (PS2 included).

would be nice to do it via dvd-video in nero, though.

Ahh.. wait.. so this is a known issue with Nero's DVD-Video barfing about a non-compliant Video DVD? I followed www.dvd2dvdr.com's instructions to the letter (as much as one can, considering the typos and somewhat confusing references to changing two files but the instructions only direct you to change one), except I used NERO at the end, and that is where it fell apart.

I have Prasi (came with the A04), but never tried it out. I take it that it works ok?

    It seems to be.

Just use Nero's UDF/ISO DVD choice, make sure you have the directories AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS, and you're good to go.

Waay cool.. I went and tried it out right after reading this.. I used Prasi, as per the dvd2dvdr.com's guide, and that worked VERY well. I assumed that Nero would behave is I just used the DVD Data template over the DVD Video template.

Interesting that Prasi says that it will write the DVD at 2x on my A04. Not sure if it really is, but it makes me feel good that it is trying.
