  1. How can i see if a MPG is NTSC or PAL? If i use DVD2AVI i can see the the framerate of my SVCD file is 29.970,is that a normal framerate? What will happen to sound if i just select NTSC in Nero when burning it? If i have a MPG i have not myself encoded, how can i see the bitrate in the file?

If you click on the SVCD link to your left than you will see that 29.97fps is the framerate for ntsc. You can use dvd2avi to get this info if you want or you can play your mpg in media player and look at its other properties. If its 480x480 29.976fps or 23.976 (with 3:2 pulldown) than its ntsc. If its 480x576 25fps than its pal.

For an ntsc svcd your framerate is fine and should not cause any problems with your audio.

If you want to view the bitrate of an mpg than use a bitrate viewer. Look in the tools section on this site.
