  1. Very often I have to convert PAL SVCD to NTSC. PAL SVCD are in bin/ce format. I use DVD2AVi program to create AVI project directly from bin/cue and with TMPG I create one big MPG2 (svcd) video file. It takes between 3-6 hours to do that depending on the movie size. Now I cut the large mpg2 in the chunks to fit 80min CDs using TMPG mpg tools ( 2-4 CDs). Here comes the question. I have 2 computers - one is AMD 1.333 and the another is P4 1.8 - both with 512 DDR RAM. On P4 1.8 when I try to open large mpg2 for trimming it just hangs... computer becomes inresponsive and slow.... mouse cursor kinds of drags around .. and the only thing I can do is reboot. If I move the same large file over network to AMD 1.333 I can trim the file w/o a problem. So the file is good - both computers have the same TMPG version... and I do not know why it does not work on P4 1.8?!? The large mpg file was originally created on P4 1.8 but can not be trimmed aferwards. It seems like computer gets confused looking for something and it just hangs. It does not freeze 100% but becomes very slugish. Is it a wrong codecs or it is missinig one?

There should be a CPU-setting, somewhere in the preferences of TMPGenc.
At you AMD, you've properly selected to use 3D-Now!. At your P4, all SSE-buttons should be selected.

If you've originally installed TMPGenc at your AMD, the settings will be alright at first start-up. If you've copied this tmpgenc onto your P4, the settings could be still in the AMD possition. You've got to verify that all are correct :
At your AMD, all 3D-Now and MMX should be enabled, all SSE should be disabled.
At your P4, all 3D-now should be disabled, all SSE and MMX should be enabled.
