    hello guys. i was just looking at a program called pro tools 5.1. it seems you can make 5.1 soundtracks with it. i was wondering if i did create a 5.1 soundtrack with this program how would i multiplex it with an mpeg? what program would i use? thanks in advance.

    I have been considering something similar. one thing is you would need to ENCODE it to either dts or ac3 (dolby).

    I have dts encodeing ability for dts audio cd. Since it is compatable for burning with normal audio 44.1khz pcm I think it might work for use with VCD.

    None of this may work, as far as consumer equpment/software is concerned though.

    Anyone actually try it yet??

    it was my understanding that the only way to do this was to use the mpeg5.1 audio format, not dolby or dts, and that only very few dvd players could output it digitally, and that only some high-end kenwood receivers were able to decode it.
