  1. Can anyone please help me?

I have a Hauppage WinTV PCI card and am trying to capture from a camcorder.

The problem is that the input to the card is Black and White, however if I connect it directly to my TV instead, the picture is colour.

    Can anyone help?

  3. I have tried both, but the cable is an a/v with an svideo convertor on either end as I haven't got a proper svideo cable.

I thought this could be a problem, but is it indeed the case?

  4. yeah thats the problem, unless those are the $20 svhs-->composite connectors that properly convert the luminance signal (color).

  6. I have now bought a proper svideo cable, but no difference! Is there any setting for B+W or Colour?

    What else could it be?

    Maybe I´m wrong:
Disconect the normal antenna cable! This fixed the same problem with my Hauppauge card...

  8. If you're using the WinTV32 app to capture, there is a control to set the color under configure, but it effects the display from both the Tuner and the composite inputs.

I don't know if the pci version works the same way, but with my usb version if you hit the green button between the channel up and down button (in the wintv2000 app)it changes input between 4 sources. composite 1,2 svideo, and tuner. when cycling thru them the signal will go from color to b/w (I don't remember which is which because i don't have the card with me) try selecting a different input than the one you're using now (if you can select a different one with the pci version).
