I am a rank newbe to the world of vcd burning. I thought I was making great progress with VCDeasy, but I am totally bogged down...
Searced the forums for my problem but came up dry.
I'm trying to view still photos (.jpg or .bmp) on a television by burning
them to a CD-R disk using VCDEasy ver. 1.1.1 software. It is tantalizingly
close to being successful, but I just can't seem to make it work
The pictures are recorded on the disk, but when they are played on the TV
through my JVC DVD player they appear to be a bunch of misplaced squares (each row of squares seems to be offset from the one above)
which almost show the picture, but not quite. If I could just rearrange the
squares, I bet they would look OK....
I'm using these options in the MPEG still type page:
VCD 2.0
NTSC
HIGH
all other parameters are default
Can anyone give me a clue as to what is wrong? Or absent that, can anyone
suggest software which will work to do this?
Thanks in advance.
Dick

Had the same problem which I reported, as have others - see
http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=84812
Now resorted to using Nero to produce a slideshow.
I believe the best software to produce a slideshow
is WinOnCd - damned expensive though in the UK at £50, but gives Chapeters (albums) and you can at tiltles, music etc.
I gave up on VCDeasy because a. it was anything but and, b.
had these problems. Try Nero - really easy but very limited.

Richard,
Try enabling the Hacked option. It worked for me.
Oh, scratch that... I just realized it's only available with SVCD's

Thanks for the feedback and the pointer to the previous problem discussion. Good picture of the problem in one of the posts:
My stills look like this when played:
........00000000
......00000000
....00000000
..00000000
00000000
I'm really new at this and any of the other software alternatives look pretty scary...
New discoveries are that the stack of CD's I've made (before I discovered I could use a R/W disk!) all didn't work on my JVC VCR, but do work properly on some other brands. They also work OK in WinDVD on my PC.
The VCDEasy.org site seems to be going through some sort of server morph and I can't contact it for help or beta solutions.
I'm begining to surmise that it is my DVD player and that there are no parameters I can tweak in either v 1.0.9 or 1.1.1 to mke my pictures viewable.
Any other thoughts which might help?
Thanks,
Dick
