  1. have a really weird problem since I changed to Windows XP professional.
My old system used 98SE and I made a couple of VCD slide shows using JPG files and Nero vcd software Ver 5.These worked fine using computer cd rom drive as well as on my Sony DVP 725 DVD palyer.(used CDRW discs).

Since changing from 98se to XP I can not play these VCDs getting a "incorrect fuinction" error in media player.

I tried the same VCD on another 98SE system and again got an error.

Then tried loading Win98SE and brand new 7.1 media player but media player gave error "no combination of filters could be found to render the stream"

As the VCD has not changed (it still plays fine on my DVD palyer) what can the problem be???

If I try to make a VCD using Nero 5.5+ on my XP system it burns all the correct files but will not play on media player nor can my DVD player see it......strange

    Help!

Check that you're using the latest version of Nero (5582?). I forget which version they released as XP compatible, but it was 5.5 something, and quite a while back.

  4. I know one diiference in your setup is that there is no ASPI layer in XP.

Here is a link to read about it or dowlnoad Nero or Adaptec aspi layers.
