I keep getting my audio to go out of sync and picture quality not very good. Could anyone please help. I tried using the HOW TOs on this website but they did not work and gave me audio out of sync and bad picture quality. I would like a really way to do this. Also could you example each step in very good detail so i make sure i know i am doing it right. I have tired may times and so far never got audio in sync or a good picture qaulity like the orginal .avi 697MB file. I know when i make it SVCD it will be 2 cds maybe even 3. Remember i am very new to this so please don't go too fast and please explain in great detail.

I am not a "pro" like many others that frequent this site, but I can offer you a bit of valuable advice anyway. You claimed that you have tried all of the steps in the guides step by step and that they did not work. Well, these guides are tried and true, and I suspect that anytime they do not produce the correct results it has to do with the way you "followed" the results or maybe some settings that (from no fault of your own) you need to change. My advice is to keep trying and make sure that your questions are specific and you give all the information that you possibly can to assist your "helper" in giving you the best answer that they can come up with. You said yourself that you are a newbie, so it might take alot of trial and error before you get it right. but when you finally get the results you want (or understand why you are not getting the results you want) you are going to be one happy mf!

The help i'll attempt to offer is predicated on the fact that ur using TMPG to encode and burning with Nero.
To start with use the wizard for a default bitrate of 1150 and on your first try use the divX file for the source (second try) extract the audio save it to a huge 1gb .wav file and then use separate files for audio and video .

Go with mpeg1 for the first try (VCD) (480x480) SVCD Is nicer I knnow but start w/ MPEG 1
*clue here just encode 2-3 minutes --> view the converted avi 2 mpeg with media player if it looks good there at 352x288 it will look almost as good on your TV

    p.s. I'm a PAL fan
    352x240 is allright
