hi!
i just got my PV233 card. I just recorded a one hour show which is in mpg format, using the capture card. But i saw that the captured video is jumpy!
not that jumpy, slightly jumpy. I thought maybe it will be okay after i burn it to vcd..but after i burn it to vcd. and play it in my vcd player, it is jerky and jumpy. I think is because the jumpy video that it used to be when it is in mpg format? Can anyone tell me how? when u all capture using pv233, will the video jumpy? there is no out of sync at all, only jumpy. I am currently using pentium 2 300mhz which is slow, thats y i bought this card. If want to upgrade it, i think for the time being, i am not able to do so, because never have enough money. Maybe anyone can give me suggestion on how to proper use of the card so that the captured mpg will not be jumpy? please anyone please help me!! My purpose for buying this card is to make those tv show to vcd. If the video i captured out is that jumpy condition, then i really have waste my money, because i am not able to get a good vcd..but jerky and jumpy. Please help me!!! Thanks alot!! to everyone for helping me..(say first keke)
if anyone have suggestion, if can maybe u can email to me too to black_box_sg@yahoo.com.sg
really want a help from u all! Thanks!!

Hi!
You don't say if you are trying to make VCD, SVCD, etc and if you are watching it on your PC or your TV. The bitrate you are using is not standard for VCD which is 1150. Try Skittelsen's registry settings at:
http://steve.kittelsen.com/pv231/
They also work with the PV233. Also, check your cables.
Good Luck! -
hi, i want to make vcd..=P. but i saw that if want to improve the mpg quality, then make the bitrate to 2000 above..right? anyway i am watching from my pc, and i wan to record directly from t he tuner. when i click the record buttom, the recording show is someting like a bit shaky, jumpy like that..let me know thx..the registry i already tried..=P thx~

It could be the cables you are using or the card is not firmly inserted in the slot. Try reinserting it or changing the slot. You might want to contact Skittelsen via e-mail:

i don't think is the cable problem because i can watch tv using tuner without any jumpy video or what..so i think is okay..only when i click record, the video become jumpy and jerk and flickering...=P, i try changing the slot or what..hopefully no problem then..previoulsy i also tried defrag my hardisk, but it makes no difference..thx for your help! hearing from u soon!
