Sounds like a Macrovision problem. What exactly were you trying to cap? Try Stinky's tool to get rid of Macrovision. It should be in the Tools section. Didn't work for me but I have an ATI AIW 128 16 Meg AGP. Other than that, I've heard that the Sima SCC works great. That's the higher end unit (I think) at about $110US. The low end one ($50US) won't work at all on my system. Currently, I'm trying the ADS Instant DVD Solution. Works good on some stuff and poorly on other stuff. Will have to play with the unit some more. Editing is also a big problem in Mpeg-2 (which the IDVD caps in) but easy in AVI or DV AVI like the DV Hollywood Bridge. For me though the 14:1 rendering time is just too much. Hope this helps some...

  7. Make sure vour ATI software is set to broadcast type PAL, I think you have to run the Initialization Wizard.

  8. i think the broad cast is correct, because i can capture from tv tuner without troubles, and from the chanels of vcr too(like on tv tuner).
only when im capturing in pal.
    thanks any way....
can i capture pal vhs in ntsc capture mode?or must be equal

  9. The "broadcast type" is where you set PAL or NTSC, they are fundamentally different and NOT interchangeable. Is your cable connection NTSC? That would mean that if you are capturing cable OK then you MUST CHANGE the "broadcast type" to PAL to capture a PAL VHS.
The VCR is Broadcasting to the PC.

  10. The broadcast was correct, how i sad, again i try to reinstall the drivers removing all before, but the results as the same,im using mmc7.5.
the most important detail that thing only happen when i capture from vhs tapes.
    thanks n way Nelson37.

    Somebody save me please...

  11. I know we are having a language problem, so I will try again.
If you can capture NTSC ok, that means that the broadcast type setting in MMC is set to NTSC. If you are NOT changing this setting to PAL to capture a PAL tape, it will not work. If you ARE changing the ATI MMC setting to PAL to capture the VHS tape and it doesn't work, I would try another tape and/or another VCR, but its probably Macrovision anti-copy protection. Is there a setting on the VCR for PAL/NTSC? I have little experience with PAL other than knowing that you have to change the setting in the MMC for PAL, if it is set to NTSC then you must change it to capture PAL.
