I have 2 questions
1. Can the standard Nero make SVCD's, or do you need another plugin?
2. Can dvd players play a svcd, but the cd only has the MPEG 2 file, not all the other folers that come with vcd's and svcd's (ie notice Nero adds some folders when burning a vcd besides just the mpeg file)

1. Yes, out of the box nero can burn a svcd. Do not use the Wizard. Close it out and you'll get a box that gives you the option of Svcd.
2. Some dvd players can play Svcd and some cannot. There is a search on this page that lets u check and see if yours does or not. However some play them, but the picture is all color blotched and not watchable. Cdr's are cheap, just burn a movie and see.
3. Oh, yeah 2 was the last question.
