  1. Well where do I start first of all let me say that i searched most of the forums here to find a solution and I tried everything!!!!
adjusting setting to direct show i installed DIVX 3.11 4.12 etc
But i did notice when you install DIVx5 it removes my DIVX 4.12

One minute my tmpeg works great converting dV2 files etc the next minute I get a MESSEAGE UNSUPPORTED FORMATT CANT OPEN WTF how can it just work one minute and then the next stop I didnt touch any settings..

So as I can see here ALOT of ppl are getting the same message so if anybody out there can pls help much appreciated..

BTW i also see ppl saying unistall tmpeg and re-install it!!
Mine and I think most ppl's came out in a zip file then you just unzip it to a DIr and Im presuming to un-install it you just delete that dir and zip it there again )

Also i have tried installing different version of tmpeg still the same message unsupported foramtt geeezzz christ im going banana's here HELPPPPPPPPPP fellow encoders ))

I bet this wont even be answered too like most of all the Tmpeg error unsupported formatt messages!!! ))

  3. I don't have a fix unless your TMpgenc VFAPI environment settings
are wrong (see below) or your codec's are scrambled
... but I have a solution u might want to try
in the meantime that will work.

Grab a copy of avisynth & install it

    www.videotools.net

    Grab a copy of MPEG2DEC.DLL

    www.google.com

After you have used DVD2AVI to create the .dv2 file
write the following in notepad but save as an .avs file
    (not a text file)

    LoadPlugin("C:\movies\MPEG2DEC.DLL")
    mpeg2source("C:\movies\yourmoviefile.D2V")

    save this as mymovie.avs

In TMpgenc, load the .avs file as the video source
and the wav saved by dvd2avi as the audio source.

    ====================

VFAPI setings under environment should show
"directshow multimedia file reader" as being checked and
having a prioity of at least 3, if not
then left click to check and/or right click to raise prioity.

  4. OK OFFLINE your a STAR what can I say i upped the vfpi directdraw thingy up to 3 like you said and installed the latest avisth.dll file mined you mine was so old in system32 and then used dvd2 to convert the vob's to dv2 and wav and then when i open tmpeg to see if it will accept the DV2 and wav what do u know IT DID WOWOWOWOW HOOO )

now im just converting like that without the actual note pad .avi thingy but if it ever stuffs up again i will just continue the avi foramtt my god offline thnx so much again and to fellow members getting this annoying error unsupported message try offline example it may work for u too )

I'll add a link that i followed as well if anyone what to follow that )
too good now Tmpeg is not shit crap its back in my good books ))

    http://www.doom9.org/mpg/d2a-mpeg2dec.htm

Happy encoding ppl's once again offline thank you so much )

BTW is it normal to go so slow geez it says 23 hours til done where as before it was like only 7 hours oh well still better than not working i suppose

  5. Hey, glad it helped!

Your encoding time should be the same or even faster.
Something is not right. If time is important try avisynth
    and then :

    (using TMPGEnc)
Check your VFAPI setings under Options/Environment Setting/
VFAPI/ and increase the priority of "avisynth/vdub reader" to
at least 3 (use right click to change priority)

If this does not improve things try lowering
the task priority to normal under Options.
