  1. I really want to capture my vhs and hi-8 movies to vcd or svcd format. I have a system now but it always freezes on me when i start to capture anything

    my system:
    850mhz duron
jetway 663as pro (via kt-133) on board sound
    256mb sdram
    nvidia geforce 2 mx200
ati tv wonder ve (also had hauppage wintv)
    30gig 5400rpm harddrive

i either need to know what hardware to change to stop my system from crashing (i have tried capture card and mobo drivers) or what the best system would be for me to get at the lowest price.

I would also like to know where i could get the products from (remember i can only get good from uk stores or websites).

im only bothered about capturing at about 480x576 (pal) at the highest res

    Thanks alot in advance

  2. Download and install VIA 4in1 drivers.
Download and install VIA Busmaster driver.

This will fix the bug when saving large files durinig capturing, encoding, etc. With VIA hardware, you have to install these drivers for decent stability.

Also, update all your drivers (video card, capture card, Windows updates). Updating drivers will almost always help stabilize your system.
