    I have ripped some laserdisk karoake song into mpeg for burning into
    VCD format. However before doing that, is there any way to improve the quality of the mpeg further? The ripped copy is not so good.I knows still image can be easily improved. How about videos? Anyone out there knows of any simple software that can do that. Would appreciate very much.

    How do you rip karaoke laser disk ??? These disks are analog in nature and you must have CAPTURED their video with some kind of capture card, right ???
    This would explain the low quality of your MPEGs. And there is no software out there that can improve MPEG quality. MPEG quality is obtained by a good capture/conversion process. Once you got the MPEG, its quality is stuck at where it is.

    I have captured laser disk this with proper capturing set up and the resulting quality is great.
