The goal - Copy 2 hours VHS to DVD and create Scene selection menus / chapter marks every 10 minutes or so.
NeoDVD worked OK if you captured in multiple files and gave it a file list. It would generate a menu entry for each one with the first scene displayed. The problem - 2 hours of video in MPEG-2 at 3.7 GB gets turned into 6.7 GB of VOB files. It all worked well if you keep the video down to an hour or so, but not two
Ulead Movie Factory or Video Studio 6 was very efficient on space - two hours ended up as 3.7GB of VOB, but their scene selection gets lost in never never land.
DVDit doesn't seem to have a concept of linking from a Menu to a second video clip.
Anybody have any suggestions ?

ulead dvd workshop i find is really good, easy to use n create menus and link em, even make the scenes into motion buttons. + it wont take up extra space, you just have to know what bitrate, cbr or vbr, and audio bitrate ur movie is because it will try to re-encode if u use a wrong template

DVD Maestro and Spruce DVD both have support for creating DVD menus based on chapters.

do you know if that feature in ulead workshop is also available in Moviefactory? I would assume so because it costs more $$$ hehe

Just an update -
I did get the feature to work in the Ulead Video Studio. The problem seems to be related to how rock solid the video is that was copied from tape. A few sync glitches seems to confuse the software as to what frame it is on. It worked as advertised and a quality capture.
As far as I know the same feature is available in the DVD workshop as well as the Movie Factory. Let's see - 30 days demo of each - that should stretch to 90 days before one has to buy something
