  1. I am having a problem with my roxio easy cd 5 platinum and roxios tech ppl are at a loss. I have a jvc svhs hooked up to a dazzle dv hollywood bridge hooked up via 1394 firewire to my dell 8200 pc. I am using mainactor software (came with the dazzle) to capture the video from my svhs, I am using TMPGEnc. to convert the captured avi file to mpeg ntsc, (I have also used roxios own software to convert also) All seems fine to this point, but when I open up roxios video cd software to burn it, I get all the way to where I hit the record button, and a msg pops up that says, one or more files have been modified, please stop recording and authenticate the file to fix errors. I do that, and when I go to authenticate it says no errors found. I can go to roxios video impressions tab and use it, but it will not use and converted file, it has to re convert any file that I use with it, plus it balks at any file over six minutes long, and the pic quality of short clips that I have managed to get to vcd are of poor picture quality. Anybody know why I keep getting that one or more files have been modified warning? Thanx

  2. I have a Dell 4400 and am getting the same message -- see Newbie "oldguy" Mar 24 "Easy CD Creator VCD Using XP". ArcSoft has not provided an answer to date.
Do you know how I can move my message from Newbie to Author and Burning? -- I'm new at this.
Please let me know if you get an answer and I'll do the same.

  3. Just my Two cents:
I originally obtained Easy CD Creator 5 (Friend Made me A copy) & was going to load it onto my new Pentium 4 Computer. However, Like everybody I talked to was using Nero 5.5 & loving it. I decided to buy an OEM Version of Nero 5.5 off of Ebay ($17) & I also love it!! I use to make LOTS of coasters with EasyCD 4 but I have made none with Nero! If you really want to get into VIDEO, you Need NERO 5.5, If you want Music, your Easy CD Creator 5 will work fine but it's not the way to go for Video Files.
    -Again Just my Two Cents-

  4. Hi people!
I am quite desperate... I have recently formatted my disk to upgrade to WinXP. I have reinstalled my Easy Cd Creator 5 + got all patches from WWW, but it still won't do VCDs (it dpes do regular data CDs). It used to be fine! it opens up, but when I add the file, ECDC just crashes, and closes. For a strange reason, Neron is not an option (does not see my CD-R). Any clue about this? My next option will be a dual boot with my old WinME, though I wish I did not have to do that... I should mention my CD-R is an Adaptec SCSI Drive. Always worked great. Any help will be appreciated... Thanks!

    Hi..

Yes, I also get that nasty message to Verify the layout. I simply ignore that message and continue on with the burn and my VCDs have been OK.

  6. Hey snakebyte, I too have tried that just ignore idea, but on mine it will burn it but, it will not work on autorun, I have to go into the file and open it to get it to play, which is ok if all I was doing was watching them on my puter but, I want them for my stand alone. Glad it works for you.

Have you the option of trying the VCD on another DVD player? Its odd that the video plays just not the auto-run - and it may or may not be related to that annoying error message.

You may have all ready tried this, but try making the VCD on a different type of media - Ie if you are burning a CDRW try it on a CDR and see if you get the same results or vice versa.

  8. I've ignored the "Project differs from Source" message also and burned a CD. When I try to play on my DVD/TV I get a "CD in Dirty" message (not "X" rated). Video CD Layout Validation shows "No errors detected". See "Easy Cd Creator VCD Using XP" in Newbie for more details. My XP came with ECD Creator Basic and I upgraded to Platinum 5.1. Could that have any bearing on the message? My son says Roxio is devoting their resources to version 6.0 which is supposed to correct XP problems -- anybody heard this?

  9. I tried to use Roxio - I have 4 & 5 platinum. Gave up with too many coasters & error messages.

I switched to the freeware vcdimager with the TSCV GUI (VCDeasy is another GUI for vcdimager). Now I get good disks and can make the menus without a sanscrit decoder ring.

  10. Actually, I have solved my ECDC5 problem by switching to Nero 5.5.7.8 (latest version). It works perfectly in Windows XP, unlike previous versions... Too bad, becayuse I liked teh ECDC interface, but just couldn't get it to work well. I can only suggest to those who encounter problems to consider Nero. :-) Thanks for the help!

  11. Correction to my 3/28 Reply: I was using 5.0.2 not 5.1. Yesterday, I downloaded/installed 5.1 and created a video. Though I still got the message, I iqnored it and it played fine on my DVD/TV.

  12. I was reading all these reply's and I still didn't see an answer as to the Easy Creator 5 problem. The problem was the program crashing before you get a chance to do anything. Now I might of missed the reply but could someone please repeat it if it has been addressed.

    Thanks
