If you are using a bin/cue produced by VCDImagerGUI you open Nero >>>File >>>burn image and select the "cue" file after changing the file types to "all files". This cue/bin will include everything you need to create your file and Nero will do it for you - no need to include/exclude anything - just press "burn".

  9. Thank Aldus4....

Finally ff/rw work good with burn image but no nero menu So I want Nero menu include with ff/rw, will it work??

  10. Add scan_data.dat file when you're burning with Nero, but with this file Goto function does not work. You can serch in this forum a lot talking about FF/RW does not work with SVCD.

  11. You can't just add a file SCANDATA.DAT. This messes
up searching by entering the time. Nero does not
produce the scan information properly. You need to
use VCDimager to make a proper image then burn with
cdrdao. However - this scandata.dat file is
optional from the spec, and the latest Nero produces
SVCD's that FF/RW properly on my Philips without
    producing the SCANDATA file.

Yes, there is a method to have a Nero menu and have the FF/FREW work. It takes slightly longer than normal but the results are as you want them.

So I put scandata in nero ext file from saved in my hd and with menu include and run not work with ff/rw on my dvd player(apex-500w), Is not that strange? Is ms wordpad from winme asscorary then wordpad or buy software mircosoft office ?? For extract file from scandata to wordpad. When I open wordpad on scandata and it showed me that SCAN-VCD already there in scandata.dat that this already burn in nero include menu still not work. Maybe I am doing irrcorrect method? Thank Aldus4

Which version of Nero are you using, RWC? That might help clear up everyone's thinking so you can get your problem solved.

In the meantime, if you're using Nero 5.5.2.3 and playing your SVCD on an Apex, you will have to add the scandata.dat file yourself. This will disable your GOTO function on the remote.

    1. Drag your MPEG files into your SVCD project
    2. Make a text file in Notepad with one line of text in it: SCAN_VCD
    3. Don't hit the <ENTER> key, just save the file as SCANDATA.DAT
    4. Drag this SCANDATA.DAT file into your SVCD project and place it in the EXT folder
    5. Burn as normal. Again, this will enable your FF/RW keys, but will disable your GOTO button.

Some standalone DVD players do not need this file, but it seems for the most part, Apex players do.

To be quite honest, you've lost me a bit. If you use VCDImagerGui and extract (with CDMage) the Scandata.dat from your bin file, and include it after you have dragged the normal mpeg file into the EXT directory - it should work. I do it all the time.

I'm not sure where you got your own Scandata.dat from but it should read SCAN_VCD and not SCAN-VCD!!!

As AntnyMD suggested could you tell us what version of Nero you are using.

Please be more sensitive to people who do not speak (or write) English as a first (or fluent) language. This forum reaches everywhere the internet does. And not everyone speaks (or writes) English fluently.

If you have an issue understanding someone's syntax, do them a favor as don't answer.

The SCANDATA.DAT you create before using Nero, by either making one yourself in a standard txt-editor for example notepad (read below what AntnyMD wrote) or you create one using VCDImagerGUI and extracting it via CDMage.

The self-made one will let you FF/FREW
the VCDImagerGUI extracted one will let you FF/FREW and use the SEARCH/GOTO facility

When you are using Nero you drop and drag one of these SCANDATA.DAT's into the EXT directory, either before or after dragging you mpeg into Nero.
