Can someone recommend a program which would allow me to burn a CD/CDRW which will contain digital stills and short movie clips taken from my digital camera which I will play on my DVD player? I am trying out Smart Disk MVP and it seems to elementary and does not have a lot of flexibilty.

I am just learning, so be patient with me and some of the questions I might ask.

I have tried a few.
Nero is easy but no background music can be added.
Ulead DVD Show is also very easy. Up to 8 albums 99 pics each. Works great for slideshow but the background music skips when played in my standalone dvd player.
Roxio WinOnCd 5 Power Edition, or Roxio Video Pack 5, which are very similar, seem to encode the music better as the slideshow plays on my player with only the occasional music skip.

I like this product alot. -
The music skips. And I am not talking about when the music track starts to repeat itself for the second time around. I matched the music piece perfectly to the amount of photos trying numerous settings.
It skips when every photo advances. It may not on your dvd player but it does on mine. If you read around

you'll find that not all dvd players play stills well. Mine, (Electrohome) plays all the formats and performs great for a cheap player. But it does struggle with slideshows with music. The slideshow from DVD Picture show plays okay in the computer but is crappy in my dvd player.
WinOnCd 3.8 or 5 PE, or Roxio Video Pack 5, creates slideshows that play flawlessly. This leads me to believe that these programs are superior in encoding the audio.
It may not matter to you as your player plays slideshows well, but what if you create a slideshow for the relatives or a friend.
I have fiddled with DVD picture show a fair bit and the only good thing I have to say about it is that it is very simple to use. It has numerous glitches. Just read through the user forum at U-lead.

I am not a Roxio fan either (it doesn't co-exist well with Nero or XP) but if you can, the two above mentioned offerings from Roxio do a better job.

mb571: If you are using an MP3 file for your music track this may be what is causing the clipping. I've had the exact same thing happen to me when making a simple slide show using Ulead VideoStudio, however, when I converted the MP3 to a WAV and used the WAV file for my music track the problem disappeared. Since then I simply won't use an MP3 file for background music on any of my projects, I only use WAV files and have not had any clipping problem since.
Hope this will help.Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.
