  1. I am using Nero 5.5.8 with a Sony DVD+RW drive. I have a 2.5 gig MPEG file that I would like to put on a DVD+RW. Nero keeps complaining that an ISO cannot have a file over 2 gig.

Nero also shows two directories, AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS. Do I drag the files to VIDEO_TS? It just gives me more errors.

    Thanks

I am also using the same Nero version as you with an HP100i burner, and have successfully burnt upto 4.3 Gb to DVD+RW.
It seems to me that you are probably using Nero in the wrong mode - my settings are as follows:

    DVD-Rom (UDF/ISO)
    ISO Level2
    ISO 9660
    Joliet switched off

You need only drag the VIDEO_TS file to Nero.
Nero needs to format the disk before it burns, and then says format failed.
Just say yes to all questions asking you if you wish to continue - eventually it gets the message and completes the burn.

    Hope this helps you.

  3. I can burn DVD's with 4.5 gig of stuff, but I have one file that is over 2.5 gig. ISO's won't allow a file that big. How do DVD movies work, do they split the files? I am looking to make a DVD Movie format type so the disk will play in my APEX DVD player.

  4. gquiring, you first need to "author" your DVD to generate the correct files and directory structures. It is likeley that your burner came with some form of DVD authoring software, I suggets you install it and learn to use it. DVD is very fussy about the MPEG speecs used, just any old mpeg wont do. Try reading a few guides and howtos if you are stuck.

I don't know how you are planning to view this on a DVD player, but the DVD Specification states that no file shall be over 1GB in length. Try authoring your file in a DVD authoring package. When NERO tells you something like this, it is only trying to protect you (in this case, from yourself). The ISO file system only has addressing capability to 2^31 (2,147,483,648 bytes). So I don't know how you EVER expect to be able to get those files off your "coaster" again.
