  1. I'm not really sure I understand when to deinterlace or leave alone. I have the Hollywood DV-Bridge that I use for DSS ( composite video input ) capture or VHS capture. I have been deinterlacing all caps because if I don't it looks terrible when encoded to 352x480 ( jagged lines ). What about DV capture from my mini-DV cam? Is that normally interlaced, and do I need to deinterlace? Can someone explain when/why this needs to be done? Thanks!

  2. You need to deinterlace above 240 horizontal lines for NTSC and 288 for PAL.

  3. That's the resolution of the cap, right? So if I take a 720x480 cap and downsize to VCD, do I still need to deinterlace because the cap was above 240? Thanks!

  4. From what I have been told, if you capture at 480 then resize back to 240 you do not need to deinterlace.
