  1. Is it possible to just build a movie with out chapters and menus, literally just the video and audio source with DVD Maestro? I have access to this program at work, and I have a video in 16:9 m2v and 6 channel ac3 audio. I'm wanting to compile the files into a dvd-r. Spruce up can do this but it changes the aspect ratio. If you can just do the audio/video in Maestro, could you please give me the order of process I need to do to get it to work? I have tried this but it want play it back. Thanks.

  2. You bet - just highlight the "menu" choice - it shows you "first play" and "title play" - point both of those to the first chapter of the video and away you go.

  3. OK - for more process info - bring up DVD maestro - drag your ac3 file and your mpv file to the little import area at the lower right of the window -it'll process them a little.

Then double-click on Movie1 - drag your mpv to the video line (the second blank area) and your ac3 to the sound line (there are normally 4 sound lines - drag to #1).
Highlight the Menus folder to the left and do the first play and title menu.
Then choose Compile in the Tools folder to create the VIDEO_TS folder somewhere.

I then use Nero 5.5.8.2 to burn the video. Never tried writing straight out of DVD Maestro, so you're on your own if you want to try that 8)

You can also do this with Spruceup, if you trick it into thinking that your 16:9 is a 4:3.

    1) Use a header modifying program (such as DVDPAtcher, or RESTREAM) to change the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 (don't worry, it doesn't affect the picture).
    2) Author as usual with Spruceup.
    3) Use IFOEdit on the resulting title set, and change the AR back to 16:9 in VIDEO_TS.IFO.
