Need Burning Help with Nero....

I am new to burn a movie to vcd, so please be gentle.... Anyways, I have two part avi movie files ( 1st part=719MB , 2nd part=683MB) and I know I have to put on 2 seperate cd's. I am currently running Nero 5.5.8.0 and I seem to be okay setting it up until I go to burn. It comes up and says it is "encoding........" and then just stops after that step; at least I think it stops, since I don't see HD light dancing or CD-R light changing. I have went to VCD help and saw where you can use a seperate encoder TMPGEnc (for avi's) then burn with Nero, but I thought Nero was all-in-one?????? Also I am not sure if the frist file above will burn to a 700MB disk????? Any help you can provide I would appreciate. Please post follow-up or email me at spmiz12@hotmail.com.....

Nero's encoder stinks,use TMPGEnc.
