  1. Need some help. I have used TMPGEnc to convert raw PAL MPEG2 to DVD compatible file using the DVD pal template which seems to have been successful as video and audio remain in sync on media player software! If I understand it correctly, all the conversion does is set the correct audio and video qualities but requires further "authoring" to make it burnable to DVD (VOBs etc).

Tried this with Ulead DVD workshop but it looks like it tried to re-encode the already encoded file. The result was an out of sync DVD-RW (on media player) which did not play on my Pioneer DV444 stand alone either.

Does anybody else use TMPGEnc in the same manner, and what is then used to convert the output file to DVD?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I think dvd workshop has this problem with de syncin the files... i believe they released a patch to sort it out, not sure where the patch is but im sure its not that hard to find.
As for not workin on ur dvd player, perhaps u should try dvd-r instead of -rw

  3. Thanks for the reply.

I'm aware of the patch but I always thought it was for hardware grabbing only. Anyhow I'll give it a try.

I have successfully used an RW on my standalone when I let Ulead software do all the work (including the encoding phase) - its out of sync though! Can't win 'em all.

    Thanks.
