In Virtual Dub when I capture I drop frames and the CPU usage is only at 10%. I am capturing using HuffyUV, 352x240.
I have an AMD Thunderbird 900 Mhz
256 megs of ram
30 gig 7200 RPM hd
ATI All In Wonder Radeon 32 MB DDR
I don't think that the audio is a factor.
Can someone help me out here. I really can't have these dropped frames
Any Tips?
Thanks
Eric

What is the source you are capturing from and how many frames are you dropping.

Check for a bios update. I had the same problem and it turned out to be a bug in the bios that was running the hard drives at 33. Once I upgraded the bios, my frame drop problem went away.

Ok Thank You, but could you please tell me where I could check for a bios update?
Thanks!

You can usually download free new bios updates from your motherboard maker's website. My MB is by Gigabyte, and I downloaded my bios upgrade from them. Check to see what your current bios version is by re-booting. Be sure you get the correct bios update for your bios.
