So here's my problem. I have these CD-RW that I figured I'd use to test stuff since I've gone though so many normal CDs. So I burn this VCD with about 72 minutes on it and then I try watching it and towards the 60s there's a little blockiness and skipping on the picture and sound. So I still have the layout for burning the CD there. I erase the CD and reburn it. Play it and there's less distortion but still a little later on in the CD. So I do a total clean erase of the CD (usually it was just the quick erase) and then I burn the same CD again and it seems to be free of any little glitches.

Anyone else have this problem? Can it possibly have something to do with the fact that I'm not erasing the CD completely? Could it just be that my DVD player doesn't play CD-RW perfectly (although it seems to do it fine most of the time) or is this some total other issue like I'm overburning my CD or something?

I don't know. I do the quick erase all the time and everything is fine. Perhaps it's your media? For CD-RW, I use Sony's for maximum quality and compatibility.

yup, i've had to do a complete erase on some cd-rw discs in order to get the VCD to play smoothly. doesn't happen all the time, though.
