Hello all,
My 2006 Panasonic DMR-EH55S DVD recorder is no longer working. The other night, with the power button off, but still plugged in, the word "PLEASE" was flashing, when normally you'd have the "PLEASE WAIT" message. Pressing the on button resulted in nothing, and now the power won't turn on at all. The laser lens hasn't been working for several years, but the HDD was still fine.
My question is I want to recover and save the recordings from the hard drive. The hard drive has a capacity of 160 GB's, and has some recordings dating back 15 years (lots of music artist talk show appearances and performances, local newscast coverage of championship sports wins, etc.).
What is the process and easiest way possible to remove the HDD from the recorder, and then recover the recordings and transfer them to a external hard drive, flash/thumb drive, etc.? I understand the IsoBuster software program does a good job with the recovery. Please let me know.
I'm using a Cloner Alliance unit to record shows these days, so I don't want to repair the DMR-EH55S.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Marshall
