  1. I have a few video files that when playing in VLC have multiple audio and subtitle tracks, but when I go to select them do not show any description. So when I click on Audio/Audio Track it lists "Track 1" then "Track 2" etc. Same with Subtitle/Subtrack. Is there a way to add a description to them? Most of my files at least say "Stereo" or a language or "Comentary by....". Thx!

  3. Thx. I downloaded it but don't see a way to do it with the GUI. I'll do some further research.

This shows how to use metadata for MP4 videos.

From there there is a link on using metadata tags in MKV videos.

Some testing should give what you want.

    Use the multiplex button.
Here you can add/change language tags and titles for the single streams.

These days most people use *.mkv files for storing multiple audio tracks in a video. MKVToolNix GUI is a quick and simple tool for renaming tracks, and it also supports MKV flags.

Tracks may be flagged as “visual impaired” (example: audio descriptions for the blind), “hearing impaired” (example: closed captions), “commentary” (director’s or cast), “forced” (translation subtitles), etc.

  8. Thx, I'll check it out. In the meantime someone suggested using MkvToolNix, which looks like it fits the bill!
